Over Christmas my lovely family sat me down and told me it was time I pulled my finger out in terms of my 5 year plan and what I am actually going to do with my life. Being a Teaching Assistant is mostly a fun job, but it doesn't pay brilliantly and it can be draining at times too. I need something to run alongside that is fun but may also make me some money. I come from a whole family of speech and language therapists, but that isn't really something I could retrain for at the ripe old age of 36, and my lovely dad thinks I should run my own business - something he did very successfully for 30+ years. My sister and her husband came up with tons of ideas, as did my mum, as did Andy, and the girls even joined in for good measure.
Faced with all this encouragement I decided to take the plunge. Well, actually I am starting with very small steps, but if you look at my side bar you will see a link to an Etsy shop!! After several years of deliberating I have taken the plunge. It has taken me all weekend to get it set up, and I have had a ball. It is going to be mainly vintage things for sale, with probably the odd handmade item as time goes on, and I have masses of photos of new stock to add, but from tiny acorns grow huge oak trees!
So, watch this space for new items and updates. Please have a look at my shop - I know there aren't many things listed at the moment (just 11 to be precise) but as today is my day off and I am fired up, hopefully there will be a few more things to take your fancy before too long!!
